Firefighters Check for Hot Spots on ex-Factory Building

Fire sparks appeared at ex-furniture factory on Jl. Kapuk Utara 2, RT 01/03, Kapuk Muara Urban Village, Penjaringan, this Sunday (11/18). North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. successfully extinguished it.

North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head, Satria Gunawan mentioned, fire was triggered by remaining hot spots on furniture materials after fire hit it.

"Most furniture material are made from wood. Hot spot can occur when fire hits the remaining materials," he said.

He explained, this former furniture factory building was on fire on Saturday (11/17). His side deploys 24 extinguisher units to handle it.

There is no fatality or people with serious injury in this incident. Allegedly, this fire was caused by electrical short circuit. Material loss is it about Rp 1.5 billion.

"Until now, our personnel are still sweeping for hot spots to extinguish fire sparks thus it will not expand," he conveyed.
